The President of the Transition, His Excellency Col Assimi Goita, Head of State, met the President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye FAYE, on a friendly working visit to Mali, at the Palais de Koulouba on Thursday 30 May 2024. According to President Faye, “Mali is not inflexible to dialogue for ECOWAS.”

- 2. In Côte d’Ivoire
Côte
d'Ivoire announced on Tuesday 28 May 2024 that it had discovered its first
deposit of coltan (columbite-tantalite), a strategic mineral used in the
electronics industry.
- 3. Rwanda
The FAO and IFAD staff associations organised a ceremony to honour the memory of their FAO colleagues who were killed and to support the survivors who work with them on Wednesday 29 May 2024 in Kigali.
According to Fao's Country Director in Rwanda Coumba Sow, ‘This was an important moment today because history learned well should never be repeated. As long as we have a shred of humanity left....
